Meeting of the Knights of the Legate of Silvania

On 15 February this year, the Silvania Legate organized the annual meeting of the confraternity of knights at Crama Fort Silvan 47 in Camăr, Sălaj County, which was attended by 17 members of the EOVE. On behalf of the Consulate’s management participated the Proconsul I. of the Romanian Consulate of the EVEO, OKT Eques Ornatus Marius Farmazon.

During the meeting, the knightly rules contained in the Atlas of Knights were discussed in depth and proposals for improving the current work were presented. Also, the future projects of the organization were discussed, the most important being the fulfillment of the statutory criteria for the establishment of the North Transylvania Legate.

After the meeting, a wine tasting visit was organized at the Fort Silvan 47 winery, a stronghold of Transylvanian viticulture. The vineyard, crossed by Paralela 47, has a cultivated area of 40 hectares, with the varieties Fetească Regală, Riesling Italian, Muscat Ottonel, Traminer, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Fetească Neagră and Cadarcă, the plantation exposure is south. The resulting wines are complex and balanced, with high acidity and a pronounced mineral character. The cellar, with a unique architecture, was built of stone and covered with earth in the shape of the letter “U”, with two access ways, each side being 25 meters long. The cosy guesthouse-restaurant located right next to the vineyard and the wine cellar provides the necessary framework for an unmissable wine-tourist destination in Transylvania.

The evening ended with a knightly dinner held in a relaxed atmosphere, where the knights, their families and friends had the opportunity to socialize and enjoy the gastronomic dishes and wines of the Silvan Country.
