On February 21-22, 2025, a delegation of the Romanian Consulate of the OEVE, made up of 14 representatives of the Consular Council, the Legate of Pitești, the Legate of Bucovina and the Tulcea Knight’s Seat, participated in the Knightly Ceremony of the establishment of the Legate of Tenerife (patronized by the Swiss Consulate of the OEVE), organized in Puerto de la Cruz. The event was attended by a large delegation of the OEVE Senate led by Captain General Alois Paul, as well as confreres from the Consulates of Romania, Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia and Luxembourg. Mr. Boris Gunnar Klemmer, Honorary Consul of Austria in Tenerife, Mr. Jose Hilario Diaz Afonzo, President of the Canary Islands Wine Brotherhood and Mrs. Jutta Domhege Alvara – President of the Canary Islands Rotary Clubs also participated as guests.
The knightly ceremony and festive dinner took place in the Mezón El Monasterio Complex, Los Realejos, located in a refurbished former Dominican monastery.
The second day was dedicated to an oenogastronomic documentation trip to El Sauzal. Here we visited an interesting Wine Museum, hosted by the Casa del Vino del Tenerife. Afterwards, we enjoyed a gastronomic treat at Xarko restaurant, basically a fine dining dinner with Canarian food and wine.
