The Ordo Equestris Vini Europae Convent

The Ordo Equestris Vini Europae Convent is a challenge, both sacred and profane, for moral strengthening. Regular attendance at the Convent is a duty of honor for each confrere knight.

This year’s convention was held in the Basilica Maria Loretto, an important place of pilgrimage, located in Burgenland – Austria, on the northern side of the Leitha Mountains, 13 km from Eisenstadt and 38 km south of Vienna, in a former monastery dating from 1645, which originally housed the Priests. Over the ages, the monastery was dismantled and re-established several times. Today, since 1964, the pilgrimage church, the parish and the monastery have been entrusted to the Congregation of the Oblates of Our Lady of Mary. Until the end of the Middle Ages, the term Oblate referred to boys brought by their parents to the monastery to become monks. Nowadays, oblates are lay people who voluntarily join the monastic life, members of Catholic missionary brotherhoods attached to orders.

The theme of this Convention was “The use of digital media in the work of the European Order of the Knights of the Knights of Wine”.

The OEVE Romania Consulate was represented by Proconsul 1, Eques Ornatus Marius Farmazon and Proconsul 2, Eques Gratzian Mărgărit, as well as by Eques Dragoș Danubianu and Iudex Daniele Dattola from the Bucovina Legate and by Iudex Radu Ciordaș, Silvania Legate.
