Stiftungsfest 2024 – Participation of the Romanian Consulate delegation at the 40th Anniversary Jubilee in Eisenstadt

On October 18-19, the Ordo Equestris Vini Europae headquarters in Eisenstadt and the neighboring area of Burgenland were the venue for the lavish celebrations of the 40th anniversary of the third – modern – period of the Order’s existence. As was only natural, the Romanian Consulate – the most numerous organization in the international structure of the OEVE – had a significant delegation of 52 people (Knights of the Wine and their guests), who were actively involved in everything that took place in Austria. Basically, beyond the implied figure of style, the tricolor and the flag of our Consulate were effectively flying everywhere! Of course, the central event can be considered the traditional ceremony held in the Dome of Haydn’s city, preceded by the parade of the hundreds of Knights of the Wine present, led by the Protector of the Order, Archduke Karl von Habsburg, and Magister Generalis, Alfred Rakoczi von Tombor Tinterra. But other oenological and other events were also interesting and fruitful for the Romanian Wine Knights. Thus, in the first part of Friday, October 18, the European Forum of Proconsuls was organized, at which, for the second consecutive year, the Romanian Wine Knights Festival was mentioned as an example of best practices for other consulates. The afternoon started with an open-air banquet held in the courtyard of the Hammer Cellar in Rust, followed by a first ceremony in the cathedral of the old medieval town. In the evening, at the Henrici restaurant in Eisenstadt, the Romanian Consulate delegation met the Moldovan Consulate delegation, demonstrating that “Amicitia per Vinum” is a motto with full fraternal coverage. On 19 October, the anniversary ceremony dedicated to the Eques de Vino was held, and on Saturday evening, for organizational reasons on the local side, the delegations had to split into several groups. Therefore, while one group went to the banquet at the Csello Mühle in Oslip (the unique venue where Joe Cocker performed decades ago), another group attended a special dinner combined with a cruise on the Neusiedler See. During the two ceremonies, several dignitaries of the Romanian Consulate received, in recognition of their prodigious work, various highly prestigious distinctions of the OEVE Senate: OKT Eques Ornatus Marius Farmazon, Proconsul I, became the first Romanian to be awarded the Meritum Ordinis, and the Rector of the Romanian Consulate Academy, Eques Paul Stoicescu-Drăgușin, received the Cross of the Order. Eques Gratzian Mărgărit, who received the Proconsul II collar, and Eques Dan Preda, who received the Legate I collar of the Legate of Pitesti, were also honored in a festive setting. …If it is to be a month rich in events for the Romanian Consulate, then the month of Brumărel, October, when the wine starts to boil, is a special one, if, after the Knightly Festival of Romanian Wine, comes the international one – Stiftungsfest!

In Honorem Dei et In Honorem Vini!
