The jubilee edition of the event “Weekend hibernal la Cârlibaba”, held on February 13-15, 2026, at the Mario & Ema Guesthouse, was a real success, being probably the best edition so far. It was attended by 60 people, confreres and guests, including some from SC Târgu Neamț. Although, in terms of structure, the event followed the pattern of the previous editions, this time, at the anniversary moment, we chose a different approach both in terms of oenogastronomic and wine and food pairing and in the selection of the sound background. It must be said that the success of this edition also contributed to the increased quality of services (restaurant, accommodation, SPA) offered by our hosts.
As Crama Viișoara, the partner of this edition, produces quality wines -both white and red-, the first evening was dedicated to white wines (Spumante Chardonnay Brut, Opera; Fetească Regală, Via Maria; Chardonnay Conu Albu; Tămâioasă Românească, Nostalgia; Chardonnay Barrique David), and the second one to red wines (Sparkling Pinot Noir Roze Brut, Opera; Cabernet Roze, Conu Albu; Fetească Neagră, Conu Albu; Merlot Conu Albu; Cuvée Ioan). We were honored by the presence at the top of the Cramei Viișoara: Gheorghe Albu, owner, and Alexandru Daniel Procovanu, oenologist. We enjoyed the charming presentation of the winery by the owner and the technical details of the wines presented by the oenologist.
Before the festive dinner, some of the “hard core” wine knights present enjoyed a blitz tasting of the four premium wines from the 2019 “Purcari Academy” series (Rară Neară Neagră, Fetească Neagră, Saperavi and Viorica Orange).
The guesthouse’s kitchen rose to the challenge of serving us authentic dishes made with local products, but also correctly paired with the wines served. Once again this year, the “haiducesque lunch”, served on the terrace, with pork on the spit and all kinds of “fogune” was well received by the participants.
On Friday evening, at the welcome dinner, we had the joy of attending the “One Man, One Guitar, One Show“, performed by Prof. Alexandru Marius Aluncărițe (“The guy with the guitar“At the festive dinner, the atmosphere was supported by DJ Mihai and DJ Dan, who managed to “feel the room” and get us dancing.
All in all, “Winter Weekend at Cârlibaba”, the tenth edition, brought us wine, food and good music, all in a pleasant and balanced atmosphere of genuine chivalrous friendship.
