…When, at the end of July 2024, in Targoviste, our distinguished Brother will mentor the emergence of the venue – and the concept! – Good Booze, which media inspired the association of “highly successful commercial hits” from large industrial wineries with “niche products from boutique producers”, a fact certified by the award of the Certification Plate of the OEVE, everyone thought that the activity of Iudex Marian Stoica Sabarus and, implicitly, of the Muntenia Nord Knight’s Chair would gain a new and well-deserved prominence.
We all knew this learned and competent sommelier and professor, a great enthusiast of the history of wine but also of the oenological present, as a man brimming with energy, ready to generously share his knowledge with his younger confreres. It was practically an encyclopaedia of taste, and the Knightly Order was rightfully proud of such an emeritus member.
At the same time, he was always animated by new ideas and projects, he wanted to make the august City of the See a pole of viticulture raised to the rank of art and to symbolically ring the Ordo Equestris Vini Europae banner in the Tower of Chindiei.
But sometimes the Divinity assigns Dionysus other tasks, so he decided that Marian Stoica Sabarus should become a cellarer of Heaven. Farewell, learned friend and noble servant of the Golden Wine!
