Panciu domains are associated – not yesterday, but today – with Blanc de Blancs and Blanc de Noirs. But, starting with the last weekend of April 2025, also with a new edition of the Academy of the Knights of Wine, an already long-established institution of the Romanian Consulate of the OEVE.
Of course, as in previous editions, all those activities that are part of the natural framework of such an event took place. The candidates for induction in the Consiliarius degree took a grid type exam, set by the Rector of the Academy, Eques Paul Stoicescu-Drăgușin, and commented by the Proconsul I, Eques Ornatus Marius Farmazon, who also provided the latest news about the current edition of the Romanian Wine Festival. The Consulate’s Oenological Commission met to discuss the Wine House project, and its new Executive Director, Brother R.H. Nini Andone, outlined his plans. Evidently, the Corps of Marshals also met, in an expanded formula, from its coordinator, Eques Dan Preda, to the recent aspirants, who also benefited from a rigorous simulation of a knightly ceremony. Last but not least, pour les connaisseurs, there was a guided tasting of the best Panciu sparkling wines…
But, beyond all these aspects of a complex annual gathering, efficiently and innovatively organized by the Proconsul II, Eques Gratzian Mărgărit, something else should be underlined – the fraternal solidarity of the participants, which is no longer a mere conventional formula, but a living illustration of the concept “Amicitia per Vinum” (not by chance the slogan of our Consulate). For example, all the candidates for enthronement were supported by the leaders of the Legates from which they came. The future marshals also enjoyed the support of dignitaries with great experience in the field. And, beyond the ritual or the symbolic weight of the necklaces carried by the magistrates, the colloquium was first and foremost a meeting of friends.
