On June 13, 2026, at the suggestion of Consul General Tombor Tintera and the Knights’ Senate, the first edition of the Pannonia Knights’ Festival took place at Batthyany Castle in Kittsee, Austria. The event, organized for the first time by four consulates—Burgenland, Austria; the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary—began with a wine tasting held at the booths of each organizing consulate, complemented by a booth featuring Ilustribus wines, produced by Consul General Tombor Tintera from his own vineyard. After the socializing and tasting of wines and local culinary specialties, the knights and their companions set off in a procession, to the rhythms of the Kittsee brass band led by conductor Christoph Rak, toward the Parish Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, where the accreditation and enthronement ceremony for the candidates from the four consulates took place. After the ceremony, the participants returned to the castle, where the Eisenstadt Riflemen’s Association—now under the patronage of Ordo Equestris Vini Europae—held a ceremony to pay honors to the Consul General and the members of the Knightly Senate.
The event concluded with a chivalric banquet held in the beautiful castle.
The delegation from the Romanian Consulate attending the festival consisted of Vice Consul Marius Farmazon, Marshal Dan Preda (the brave bearer of the consular flag), Counselor Marcello Battaglia, Winedame Manuela Farmazon, and Hospita Maria Preda.
The second edition of the Panonia Festival will be held in 2027 in Brno, the Czech Republic.
We welcome this initiative and congratulate the organizers involved in the event, under the coordination of our brother Eques Ornatus Michael Duacsek, Proconsul of Burgenland.
In Honor of God and in Honor of Wine
Vice Consul Marius Farmazon
