At the invitation of their Hungarian counterparts, a delegation from the Romanian Consulate of the OEVE, led by Vice Consul Marius Farmazon, participated on October 10, 2026, in the annual chivalric festival for the induction of new members and the conferral of ranks, held in Budapest. The eight-member Romanian delegation also included dignitaries Eques Dan Preda, Legate 1 of Pitești, and Iudex Adrian Dușa, Legate 2 of Pitești.
On the morning of the event, the hosts organized an interesting guided tour—available in Romanian—of the Hungarian Parliament Building for festival participants. The building, designed by the renowned architect Imre Steindl between 1885 and 1904, impressed visitors with his Neo-Gothic details interiors and the inspired interplay between the materials used: marble, wood, and glass (for the stained-glass windows). The first meeting of the Hungarian government took place in this majestic building even before its construction was completed, on June 8, 1896, to mark the millennium anniversary of the founding of the Hungarian state.
The knighting ceremony, held that same afternoon at the Inner-City Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, was followed by an elegant gala dinner at the Marriott Hotel Budapest. At the start of the gala dinner, Magister Generalis Tombor Tintera, Vice Consul Marius Farmazon, and Senior Proconsul István Tagai were awarded the Cross of Merit—the highest distinction of the Hungarian Consulate—for their outstanding contributions to the Order’s chivalric activities. The awards were presented by the three dignitaries of the friendly consulate—Proconsul 1 Sándor Mészáros, Proconsul 2 József Nacsa, and Proconsul 3 Csongor Czipf, whom we thank both for this great honor and for the warm hospitality with which they welcomed us.
