On August 26\u201327,August 26\u201327, 2026, at the Via Domnului Winery, the Ploie\u0219ti Knightly Chapter of the Romanian Consulate of the European Order of Wine Knights organized the pilot edition of a wine competition featuring wines made from Romanian grape varieties grown in the Dealu Mare vineyard.<\/span><\/p>\n

Twenty-two wineries participated, submitting 51 wines to the competition in the white, ros\u00e9, and red categories.<\/span><\/p>\n

I don’t think we need to further highlight the quality of the wines produced in Dealu Mare, as they are universally recognized both nationally and internationally.<\/span><\/p>\n

I would, however, like to highlight the producers\u2019 interest in organizing this competition, with a view to supporting the promotion of wines made from Romanian grape varieties at the national and European levels, through the competition\u2019s organizer, the Romanian Consulate of the OEVE.<\/span><\/p>\n

The finalists in the Muntenia Regional Round of the Romanian Grape Varieties Wine Competition were:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n<\/span>– Feteasc\u0103 Regal\u0103 \u2013 semi-dry, Crama Bolgiu<\/span><\/p>\n

      – Busuioac\u0103 Bohotin \u2013 dry, SCDVV Pietroasele
      \n<\/span>– Feteasc\u0103 Negar\u0103 \u2013 dry, Via Domnului Winery
      \n<\/span>– Feteasca Negr\u0103 \u2013 dry, Stenota Winery<\/span><\/p>\n

        – Negru de Drag\u0103\u0219ani \u2013 dry, Metamorfosis Winery

        We are looking forward to the final \u201cTournament,\u201d where the most highly rated wines will be awarded the winners\u2019 crest.<\/span><\/p>\n

        We would like to thank ADAR for its support in judging the wines entered in the competition, ONVPV for its technical support, and, last but not least, the Prahova Wine Region Association for promoting and supporting the competition within the communities to which the producers belong.<\/span><\/p>\n
