During the Palm weekend, the brethren of the Tulcea Knight’s Seat organized, in Sarichioi, on the shores of Lake Razelm, a wine and food meeting, focusing on fish dishes and wines produced in the northern part of Dobrogea. The theme was chosen because Sarichioi not only has skilled fishermen, but also a tradition of fish dishes. As far as wines are concerned, the area has an interesting potential, already revealed by the wineries in the area. In addition to the hosts, the 1st Proconsul of the Consular of the OEVE Consular Office Romania, Eques Ornatus Marius Farmazon, and a large number of confreres from the Bucovina Legate, accompanied by their friends from Bucharest, attended the event together with their families.<\/p>\n

We tasted, at leisure, special wines from four wineries: Crama Hamangia (Consiliarius Ioan B\u0103lan), Crama Delta Dun\u0103rii\/La Sapata (R.H. Roberto Pieroni), Crama Paralela 45 (R.H. Nini Andone) and Crama Niculi\u021bel (R.H. Ioan Vlad), all owned by the confraternity of the S.C. Tulcea.<\/p>\n

The weather was colder than it was supposed to be in mid-April, which prevented us from taking a boat trip on Lake Razelm and the canals to the Danube Delta. However, the organizers had the inspiration to offer us, in return, an instructive historical-cultural visit to the town of Babadag. We had an interesting guided tour of the Ali-Gazi Pasha Geamia (Mosque), a monument of Islamic religious architecture and history dating back to the 17th century, the Mausoleum of Sar\u00ee Saltuk Dede (a famous Turkish thinker and dervish who propagated the Islamic religion, especially in the Balkans and Dobrogea, who died in 1297), the Museum of Oriental Art – Panaghia House (where pieces of traditional folk art of the Turks and Tatars of Dobrogea, as well as pieces of oriental art made in factories and later industrially, are exhibited). At the end of the trip, in the village of Enisala, we visited the museum objective “The peasant household preserved in situ” (synthesis of traditional architecture in northern Dobrogea at the beginning of the 20th century, the first ethnographic museum in Tulcea County).<\/p>\n
