TERRA VALACHORUM<\/strong> – registered trademark of the Romanian Consulate of the Ordo Equestris Vini Europae – is the name of the wine specially designed for the knights of wine by the most representative Romanian wine producers, at the proposal of the Oenological Commission of the Consulate.<\/p>\n

The Terra Valachorum project aims on the one hand to promote the producers selected to make the wine for the members of the Order and presented annually at the Romanian Wine Knights Festival (the most representative event in the Consulate’s calendar), and on the other hand, to create a national brand with deep historical and cultural resonances.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

The inaugural edition Terra Valachorum (2011)<\/strong>, was dedicated to one of the most representative producers of Premium wines in Romania – DAVINO -, which proposed a wine from the 2009 vintage (the year of the foundation of the Romanian Consulate of Ordo Equestris Vini Europae), a dry red coupage, blended from Feteasc\u0103 Neteasc\u0103 Neagr\u0103, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, produced in a limited edition of 420 bottles, individually numbered.

The second edition of Terra Valachorum (2012)<\/strong> includes two wines dedicated to two Lords, prominent figures of Romanian and European medieval history. The first wine proposed (red), a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot and Black Feteasc\u0103 from the 2010 vintage, produced by Crama Opri\u0219or, in a limited edition of 500 bottles, individually numbered and with the possibility of customizing the label, was dedicated to the ruler Mircea the Elder.

It is a wine, carefully selected by oenologist Mark Dworkin and vinified by WineRo Winery, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Black Feteasc\u0103 from the 2011 vintage, produced in a limited edition of 420 individually numbered bottles.

The fourth edition of Terra Valachorum IV (2014)<\/strong> was dedicated to Andrei Mure\u0219anu, Romanian poet and revolutionary, author of the poem “De\u0219teapt\u0103-te rom\u00e2ne!”, Romania’s state anthem. It is a dry red wine, Feteasc\u0103 neagr\u0103 from the 2012 vintage, matured in barriques from the 2012 vintage, produced and bottled at VILLA VINEA (Cram\u0103 de Castel Vinum SRL Mica, Mure\u0219) in a limited edition of 240 individually numbered bottles.

The first wine proposed is a Negru de Purcari (the top of the range of the Basarabian producer’s portfolio), a coupage from the 2012 production, made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Saperavi and Black Rara, produced in a limited edition of 420 bottles. This wine is dedicated to Grigore Vieru, in the year that marks the 80th anniversary of the poet’s birth.

The 2017 Terra Valachorum Anniversary Edition<\/strong> is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the organization by Ordo Equestris Vini Europae of the first knightly ceremony in Romania, which marked the beginning of the process of establishing the Romanian Consulate of the OEVE. We opted for Feteasca Neagr\u0103 2015, dry, barrel-aged, produced by Casa de Vinuri \u0218tef\u0103ne\u0219ti-Arge\u0219 in a limited edition of 413 bottles (the altitude at which the vineyard is located, on Marcea hill in \u0218tef\u0103ne\u0219ti).
