On 1 July 2023, a delegation of the Romanian Consulate of the OEVE, led by Proconsul Marius Farmazon, participated in the work of the OEVE Senate Academy held at the Pannonhalma Benedictine Abbey in Hungary.
After the blessing liturgy, Consul General Alfred R. Tombor Tintera gave a speech, followed by the laying of a wreath at the urn containing the heart of Otto Von Habsburg, the first Protector of the Order, with all participants paying tribute to him.
The work of the Academy continued under this year’s motto, “Courageous in Faith – Courageous in Life” and the Chaplain of the Order, Dr. Geier, gave a wide-ranging lecture entitled “Believe and Live Courageously” with elements on Faith, Religious Life and Metaphysics, a continuation of the lecture given at the Knights of Loretto Academy.
Then followed a very important event for the Romanian Consulate of the OEVE, the signing of the Friendship Treaty between the Senate and the Romanian and Hungarian Consulates of the OEVE.
The program continued with the examination of the candidates for the Ennoblement in the degree of Eques de Vino, in which the four confreres from Romania, Yudex Andronic Gheorghe, Yudex Bădiță Adrian, Yudex Haidarli Daniel and Yudex Mărgărit Gratzian participated.
The delegation of the Romanian Consulate of the OEVE also included Eques Benedetto Dell’Aria – Legate 1 Pitesti, Eques Dragoș Danubianu – Legate 1 Bucovina, Eques Constantin Maierean – Legate 2 Bucovina and R.H. Andrei Sauciuc – S.C.Botoșani.
The event ended with a visit to the monastery cellar and a wine tasting.
